Pete and Carol met at the University of Denver in 1973 while enrolled in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Carol was there for the education; Pete was there for the skiing.

After graduation, they parted company. Pete went right into management with the Hungry Tiger organization while Carol went to work in restaurant design with numerous firms in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.

As is normally the case, Carol (the “brains” of the operation) got out of the restaurant business in short order to prevent serious, long-term brain damage. Pete (the slow learner) stayed with it for the next 30 years including a 20-year stretch with the Chart House organization.

Pete and Carol were reunited after a 25-year hiatus and were married in 2002 in Yosemite National Park.

Piggy’s has been a dream of Pete’s since 1984 when it was first conceptualized for a location in Manhattan Beach, CA. Life took hold and with kids and other meaningful attention grabbers, Piggy’s was placed on the backburner for two decades.
